These programs are provided to public and private schools in Thailand, to Thai and expatriate teachers and to small, medium and large-sized companies in all industries for a range of specialist communication skills. IDEAL History
IDEAL English Academy was established when ELT Phuket International was founded in 1994 by Ms. Noocharee Boonparot, in partnership with ELT International.
Ms. Boonparot has had an interesting and distinguished career. She graduated from the University of Manila with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. Shortly after graduating, she worked in the Tax Division of the Nakhon Ratchasima Province for six months. For the seventeen years that followed, Ms. Boonparot worked at the Civil Service Commission of Thailand. During her tenure, one of the many areas she personally oversaw was overseas student affairs. Ms. Boonparot then moved on to the administration team of Dulwich International School for one and a half years, before finally deciding in 1994 that she would establish her own school – ELT Phuket International.
ELT Phuket International, based in Phuket, was the first branch of the organization to enter the English language teaching industry in Thailand. Another center was opened in Nonthaburi soon after, in October 1997, following the rapid success of the Phuket center. It was later decided that a location closer to the central area of Bangkok would be more suitable to capitalize on the burgeoning demand for English Language teaching in Bangkok. So, the Nonthaburi center was relocated to Lat Phrao in January 2000. The change in location brought with it a change in name and an amicable separation from ELT International, to become a self-sustaining entity – IDEAL English Academy was born.
In Bangkok, IDEAL English Academy provides the curriculum and teachers for the English language programs at Sacred Heart Convent School, a prominent K-12 private Catholic girls’ school in the Klong Toey District of Bangkok. IDEAL English Academy has also been actively involved with other Sacred Heart schools – Sacred Heart Nonthaburi, Sacred Heart Pattanavet and Sacred Heart Don Meuang. In addition to The Sacred Heart schools, IDEAL English Academy has worked with Patai Udomsuksa School, which educates kindergarten to secondary level students, and Yam-Sa-Ard School, which educates kindergarten to primary-level students.
IDEAL English Academy also runs active weekend English language programs which incorporate a wide variety of courses at its head office in Lat Phrao. Students range in age, from young children to adults, and in ability, from absolute beginners to advanced levels.
IDEAL English Academy has had great success in the business English market. It has catered to a diverse business clientele, which includes Thai Airways International, The Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority, The Telephone Organization of Thailand, The Thai Danu Bank, The Thai National Mekong Committee and The Challenge Superstore and Flextronics Co., being amongst the many satisfied clientele of its high-quality programs.
IDEAL English Academy’s sister institution, ELT Phuket International, works in conjunction with the rapidly growing tourism industry in Phuket by providing English language training to staff in internationally renowned local hotels. Moreover, ELT Phuket International services the English language teaching needs of several local government schools. ELT Phuket International also services the Busabong Kindergarten School. The language center runs a thriving English language program, which is extremely popular with the local community.
